Splat.............

OK, so we've had some snow. The second round came today - about 9" in my neighborhood with as much as aanother 6-8 to go. Whopee.

The photo below is a snowbank I attempted to cross on my way home from work today. Since the temperature is pretty mild, I was not bundled up and had a little more agility in my step. I was carrying my purse, my TlDM enormous tote bag, two sacks of groceries, plus balancing an umbrella as the snow was heavy. I did not want to walk all the way to the end of the block where a tiny pedestrian path had been gouged, so thought I could just scale up the bank. I fell, fortunately forward, face down, splayed out like a scarecrow. First thought: OMG I hope nothing's broken. Second thought: Please don't let anyone I know drive by. Third thought: Did all those expensive tangerines stay in the bag? I really don't feel like pawing through the snow looking for them

All ok. Winter in Minnesota.

Oh man! You poor thing!

Were you able to recover all your things?

Shoot me an e-mail if you need me to bring my snowblower by your place.

Oh sister - snow, snow and more snow! Yeah those shortcuts can reall get you. Did you get ahold of all those expensive tangerines? If someone laughed, see it this way - you made their day! Laugh with them b/c you didn't hurt yourself and that is the ùain thing and if we don't laugh well then we will cry! BE PROUD OF YOUR PICS - you have worked SO hard to get them!

Heh. Sorry, but that sounds just like something I'd do, too. This morning, I went outside to take O to school. I stepped on what I thought was a patch of snow, but what turned out to be a patch of snow floating on an 8" deep puddle. Lovely.

I hope your groceries survived, even if your dignity was a bit bruised. :D

I’ve been clicking my heels with glee with this snow storm! I don’t have to shovel anymore! Enjoy the joy of snow! (in march…)

I just have to tell you that the amount of snow you have in Minnesota now is quite normal in the Stockholm area of Sweden. Further north there is even more! Also in Stockholm in December you only have daylight between 9AM and 3PM, so the snow lightens up the dark. I think it is cozy. In the summer everybody LOVES and really appreciates the light. In the spring people walk on the sunny side of the street. I think your body actually needs the sun. In Stockholm during June and July, there is daylight from 3AM until midnight, ie 21 hours! It is never dark and warm out, like it can be in the US. I remember liking that as a kid - biking in the dusky evening with all the windows of the houses open so you can hear radios and TVs and people talking, laughing, arguing.....
